ScoutAdvisor Moves to Mobile Technology, iPhone

ScoutAdvisor Corporation, producers of the industry-leading ScoutAdvisor┬« 4.0 system, released its first iPhone and Google Android interface designed to work specifically with professional sports teams’ proprietary scouting data.

The beta release, called DataPro Mobile, affords pro sports teams custom access to scouting and statistical data held on amateur, professional, and international players. By combining use of compressed web video, dynamic graphing, intelligent live RSS feeds, and custom grading per player, ScoutAdvisor has met the demand for a mobile reporting interface within professional sports. Front Office executives from any location simply log in and at the flick of a finger, pull up detailed reports on any player.

“This type of technology is a framework in which we’ve invested 3 years. Major League Baseball is the primary consumer, but our custom framework can easily be applied across sports,” noted ScoutAdvisor’s Yates Jarvis, VP Strategy & Creative. “We continue to focus on innovation that is backed by constant, thriving relationships in this industry. Unique from other B2B entities in the space, we’ve been able to roll out continuous technology advancement and do it in a way that makes complete sense to professional sports teams.”

ScoutAdvisor has had experience with mobile technology before. Released in 2002, a PDA version of their scouting application was available for phones running on PocketPC. The new product operates off of the ScoutAdvisor® DataPro reporting engine, utilizing un-tethered access to complex data sets and player characteristics.

“ScoutAdvisor amalgamates data as well as anyone,” explains Mike Smith, Director of Baseball Ops for the Detroit Tigers, and the man leading the charge to bring leading innovation inside the Tigers’ Front Office. “It’s only natural they’d bring that strength to the handheld industry, starting with the iPhone.”
