TAMPA, Fla. – (June 15, 2008) – The Houston Astros have just added the power of ScoutAdvisor® DataPro to their lineup... This web-based and offline search and reporting tool is a fully relational database management system that will enable the Houston Front Office to streamline their analysis of existing and prospective players. The software supports simultaneous cross-database searching and reporting of their proprietary professional scouting data, all transactional data from MLB, and daily statistical data from Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM).Featuring a .NET framework and built on an industry-standard Microsoft Enterprise SQL Server platform, DataPro integrates seamlessly into the ScoutAdvisor® flagship scouting and baseball information system, the IBM PROS scouting system, as is the situation with the Cubs, or any other MLB team’s proprietary system. It enables general managers and front office staff to build pitcher or position player reports through relational searches that combine data from every information source a team has at its disposal. Among these sources are a club’s proprietary pro and amateur player evaluations, biographical, transactional and contract information provided daily by MLB and daily batting, pitching and fielding statistics from MLBAM.
