In time for opening day: The defending National League West Champion Arizona Diamondbacks have deployed the ScoutAdvisor® suite of scouting and baseball information solutions in time for the start of the 2008 season. “The Diamondbacks are committed to deploying the best technology available to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of our baseball operations,” said General Manager Josh Byrnes. “The ScoutAdvisor® system is proven technology. We have chosen the best information management system in professional baseball today.” After meeting with the company during the winter meetings in December, the Diamondbacks selected both the ScoutAdvisor® flagship system, which provides secure collaboration on scouting and other critical player information, and ScoutAdvisor® DataPro, a powerful new web-based tool that utilizes relational technology to run elaborate, cross-database searches that combine player information, scouting data and statistics from multiple public and proprietary sources. “We are honored to count the Arizona Diamondbacks among our ScoutAdvisor clients,” said Michael Morizio, President and CEO, ScoutAdvisor Corp. “This club has a reputation for excellence and a track record of utilizing the best, most effective technology tools available to hone its competitive edge. The ScoutAdvisor® software system is an important new weapon in the Diamondbacks’ technology arsenal.” The flagship ScoutAdvisor® scouting and baseball information system is fully customizable and allows general managers, front-office staff, instructors and scouts to securely access public and propriety scouting and statistical data. Field staff can upload daily scouting reports and synchronize their systems with automated player updates, roster moves, daily statistics and other transaction information from Major League Baseball (MLB), MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) and other STATS providers, all via one centralized database system. Other features include a player development module with daily game reports, major league, minor league and amateur “pref list” capabilities, and a comprehensive calendar and scheduling component that allows the staff to coordinate scout and player-related plans and activities. ScoutAdvisor® DataPro is a fully relational, highly secure web-based application that integrates seamlessly as a portal on top of any club’s scouting system, including ScoutAdvisor®, IBM PROS and proprietary systems. Accessible via the web plus an offline version, it allows clubs to streamline their analysis of combined statistical and evaluation data on pro or amateur players. DataPro also features a proprietary customizable player dashboard where all data and reports on a particular player can be displayed and printed from one logical place. About ScoutAdvisor Corporation Based in Tampa, Fla., ScoutAdvisor Corp.
